Fueling Safety and Progress Through Partnerships
Fundraising: Support new innovative programs, technology, and equipment to fight crime, support officer safety, community safety, and specialized training as determined by the Sheriff.
K-9 Unit: Support K-9 needs such as K-9 vests, medical needs, training, and/or purchase of K-9 dogs.
The Sunshine Fund Program: Support the health and welfare of the Pender County Sheriff’s Office Employees that cannot be funded through normal taxpayer funds. To assist employees that face hardships through natural disasters, sickness or death, etc. To provide goodwill, moral support, and recognition by serving as a conduit for businesses and communities to contribute through donations, services, and goods.
The Scholarship Program: Scholarship funds are designated for children of Pender County Sheriff’s Office Employees. Funds awarded to support the cost of summer camp for school-age children ($100-300) and scholarships to graduating students for higher education or job training ($1,000).
Jail Ministry Program: Support staff and inmates through a network of faith community partners, volunteers, and professionals. Work as a committee to learn long-range needs determined by the Sheriff/Jail Staff and work to address the identified needs.
Volunteer Program: To provide volunteers to assist with special events and assignments determined by the Sheriff’s Office. Based on the assignment, volunteers may be required to participate in the Pender Sheriff’s Citizen Academy.
